Nonprofit Founder
After the tragic loss of her son, Laura founded a nonprofit organization called Force Spirit Goose which raises funds for Neil’s favorite place, Acadia National Park in Maine.
LEGO Master
Never one to back down from a challenge, Laura has an extensive LEGO collection – including several items she has built from thousands of the small, colorful pieces.
Biography
- Laura joined WORX in 2012 and serves in a variety of financial and operational capacities for the agency in its support of client partners.
- Previously, Laura served as a bookkeeper for a large landscaping company – performing Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and tax preparation functions.
- Laura also ran her own bookkeeping business prior to joining WORX.
- Wanting to do so her entire adult life, Laura got certified by the National Real Estate Institute (NREI) in 2023.
- Laura earned an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration from Tunxis Community College (Farmington, CT).
- Laura also graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Post University (Waterbury, CT).
- A talented cook, Laura received a Certificate from the Connecticut Culinary Institute.
- Outside of WORX, Laura is an accomplished artist and photographer. Her beautiful nature images adorn the light pole banners in her hometown of Torrington, CT.
- Laura also has musical chops; she played the violin for over a decade.
- Laura volunteers for community organizations including the Warner Theater.
- Laura has what she believes is a unique distinction: she can do a very good impression of the Ralph Wiggum character from The Simpsons.
- Laura resides in Torrington, CT, with her husband James, dog Princess Leia, and cat Jasper.
